Yard crew at work    Red tail flies overhead

A woodpecker has decided that pecking the wooden parts on the front of the sanctuary would be a fun thing to do. It looks like some significant hole patching will be in order. Does anyone know how to stop/prevent such mischief?

The meandering segment of Irondequoit Creek at the sanctuary provides some fine lessons in stream dynamics. The high water and swift stream flow following the recent episode of heavy rain has resulted in a fair amount of bank erosion along the outside curves of the meanders. This tree along the Creekside Trail has fallen along with its attached trail sign.


Stream Flow Information

Have you ever wondered what the small green building along the creek's flood plain across Railroad Mills Road from the sanctuary is? It's a United States Geological Survey streamflow gauging station. You can check the level and discharge of the creek at that location at from the comfort of your home by selecting the following link:
